A Software Development Engineer in Test position is a role model for excellence in quality assurance and quality control of software solutions. Is part of a self-organized agile team and interacts with team members on release deliverables. Is responsible for setting up Production & QA environments with minimal support. Is hands-on and capable of writing and maintaining the test automation scripts along with developing and maintaining the test automation frameworks. Participates in reviews of automated and manual tests and has the drive to enhance automation coverage thereby minimizing manual testing. Provides inputs in defect triage meetings and assists team members in troubleshooting the root cause of complex customer issues. Assists team members in supporting customer and implementation-related issues.
Contribute to System test methodologies, test plans and highly effective test automation by creating and executing automated system tests to replicate real-world scenarios.
Create and setup test scenarios and test data as needed.
Write code to simulate tests and to build various testing tools, by working alongside other engineers and championing code quality principles; Deliverables will include code builds and documented test results.
Participate in tool analysis, create proof of concept models, and make recommendations to support the tools selection process.
Participate in reviews (walkthroughs) of technical specifications and program code with other members of the engineering team, communicating design, requirements, feature set, functionality and limitations of systems/applications to the team.
Proactively involved with product managers right from inception through functional validation to launch, while always looking for potential quality issues/bugs and offering triaging and root cause analysis capabilities to the engineers.
Provides cross-training and education to test personnel as required.
Assists in the collection of test metrics, understands the trends, and suggests appropriate corrective actions.
Identifies and reports software defects in an appropriate manner and follows the defined defect lifecycle.
Follows standard development processes and procedures.
Work with various teams to promote QA processes, practices and standardization.
Provides training, guidance, and feedback to testing team members.
Proactively notifies of impediments to commitments.

5-10 Years of experience as Automation Engineer dealing with Automation Testing, Manual Testing and performance optimization of enterprise grade applications
Must be a Technical Graduate or Postgraduate - BE/ BTech/ME /MTech - CS/IT/Data Science/Machine Learning/AI.
Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, UI Automation and API Automation is must
Experience with BDD (Behavior Driven Development)
Proficient with one or more of the following languages: Java or Python
Strong experience working with testing frameworks and tools like WebDriverIO, Protractor, Playwright, Selenium, Appium, etc..
Hands-on experience in WebDriverIO, Protractor, Mocha, Chai, Jest, Puppeteer, or Cypress is preferred
Hands-on working experience with Docker is a plus
Working knowledge of Postman
Hands-on experience with RestAsured or SuperTest
Experience with Shell Scripting is preferred
Experience in testing APIs, complex backend distributed/cloud enabled applications
Experience with NoSQL DB, preferably MongoDB (or) SQL DB
Hands-on experience in GCP/AWS/Azure technologies, preferably in GCP.
Understanding on micro-services is preferred
Integrate test automation with Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines in collaboration with DevOps
Knowledge on Message Brokers, preferably RabbitMQ and Google Pub/Sub
Understanding of Testing Techniques (e.g. Performance, Unit, Integration, etc..), their strengths and weakness, and ability to use them to best effect
Should have good troubleshooting and root cause analysis for issues
Understanding and ability to Develop tests, Run tests, Find defects, and Log defects effectively
Experience testing with containers, cloud, virtualization, and configuration management.
Collaborate with other developers across multiple departments
Utilize repositories and tracking systems such as Git, Confluence, and JIRA for documentation, test scripts, test results, configuration, and supporting data
Willingness to own a Project/Module and drive the QA Efforts for it
Proficient with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, QA methodologies, Defect Management System, and Documentation.
Understanding of Functional Test methods/Test automation (SDET skills) and different phases of testing: System Integration, System Testing & User Acceptance Testing
