About The Role

As the

Practice Lead – Digital & Technology

, you'll be a key driver in shaping and significantly expanding our offerings within the dynamic

pharma commercial sector

. You'll lead complex technology programs, pioneer new service lines, build and mentor a top-tier team, and act as a trusted advisor to leading pharmaceutical clients. Your expertise will guide them through critical initiatives in digital strategy, commercial analytics, and emerging technologies.
You'll bring over

10+ years of experience

delivering large-scale tech programs in Life Sciences, with a strong emphasis on commercial functions. Your background should also showcase a proven ability to lead business transformations and scale practices into highly profitable business units.
The compensation will be a combination of Base + Bonus + Equity.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Strategy & Vision for Pharma Commercial

  • Define and rigorously execute the strategic roadmap for the Digital & Technology Practice, with an unwavering focus on high-value pharma commercial solutions.
  • Proactively identify and assess emerging trends and disruptive technologies in pharma commercial tech (e.g., AI/ML-driven predictive analytics, omnichannel orchestration, next-gen commercial data platforms, real-world evidence integration) and cloud technologies like AWS (e.g., HealthLake, S3 for secure storage, Glue for ETL) and Azure (e.g., Health Data Services, Data Lake, Synapse Analytics).
  • Translate these trends into compelling, actionable offerings, working seamlessly with sales teams and senior client stakeholders.

Business Development & Thought Leadership

  • Drive and actively support sales pursuits by shaping winning proposals, responding to RFPs/RFIs, developing comprehensive Statements of Work (SOWs) that often include robust commercial data strategies and cloud architecture designs.
  • Lead strategic client conversations focused on commercial value and co-create innovative solutions for specific pharma commercial challenges.
  • Represent the firm at key pharmaceutical industry events, author influential thought leadership content on pharma commercial trends and digital strategies, including the strategic use of commercial data warehouses and cloud adoption (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to develop targeted go-to-market strategies and campaigns.

Practice Management & Operations

  • Establish and manage the practice’s operating model, including governance, agile delivery methodologies, and comprehensive knowledge management, optimized for pharma commercial projects, including data governance for commercial data assets.
  • Define KPIs and performance metrics; rigorously track utilization, revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Oversee strategic resource planning, staffing, and capacity management for scalable and efficient delivery of pharma commercial engagements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration, encouraging expertise in pharma commercial domains, including commercial data architecture and analytics.

Team Building & Leadership

  • Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of consultants, architects, and analysts with deep expertise in life sciences and pharma commercial technologies, including specialists in data warehousing, BI, and cloud solutions.
  • Create comprehensive career development plans and lead internal capability-building initiatives focused on market trends, new technologies, and commercial best practices relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.

Technology Program Delivery & Commercial Impact

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of all technical programs/projects for pharma clients, taking full ownership from strategy to execution.
  • Collaborate with internal practices, client teams, and senior client stakeholders to ensure solutions address commercial pain points and deliver measurable impact (e.g., enhanced sales force effectiveness, optimized patient engagement).
  • Serve as the primary escalation point, leveraging experience to keep projects on track and ensure exceptional client satisfaction.

Commercial Offering Development

  • Design and package consulting services around critical commercial functions: CRM optimization (Veeva, Salesforce Health Cloud), Master Data Management (MDM) for commercial data (HCP, HCO, product), advanced commercial data platforms, field force effectiveness, digital engagement strategies, and patient support programs.
  • Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of robust commercial data warehouses and data lakes, leveraging cloud-native services like AWS Redshift/Snowflake on AWS, or Azure Synapse Analytics/Databricks on Azure. These will serve as the single source of truth for critical commercial insights (e.g., sales data, patient data, claims data, syndicated data).
  • Develop robust accelerators, frameworks, and reusable assets tailored for the pharma commercial lifecycle, enabling rapid deployment and demonstrable value.

Client Engagement & Delivery Oversight

  • Act as a senior advisor to pharmaceutical clients, guiding them through complex digital transformation journeys impacting their commercial models, with a strong focus on leveraging commercial data assets and cloud-based solutions.
  • Provide strategic oversight on key engagements to ensure delivery excellence, client satisfaction, and achievement of defined commercial outcomes.
  • Resolve escalations and ensure alignment between client expectations and delivery outcomes, especially in high-stakes commercial projects involving data integration, analytics, and cloud adoption.

Compliance & Regulatory Acumen

  • Ensure all digital and technology solutions, including commercial data warehouses, Intelligent RPA implementations, and cloud deployments on AWS and Azure, adhere to relevant pharmaceutical industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., FDA, HIPAA, GDPR, GxP, global/local promotional guidelines).
  • Minimize risk and uphold ethical commercial practices, especially regarding patient privacy and data security in cloud environments.

Others

  • Strong understanding of the life sciences and bio-pharma industry is highly desirable. Comfortable with commercial dataset: Sales data from Iqvia, Symphony, Komodo, etc., CRM data from Veeva, OCE, etc.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Attention to details, biased for quality and client centricity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
