Role Overview
We are seeking a
Senior SQL Software Developer
to lead the development and support of finance-related corporate systems. This role demands deep technical expertise, a strong understanding of financial system workflows, and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality software solutions. You will be responsible for the development, deployment, maintenance, and support of critical systems, contributing to strategic IT initiatives and mentoring junior developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and indexes.
- Design and implement efficient ETL processes using SSIS; handle performance tuning, deployment, and error logging.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand finance workflows and translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
- Create technical designs and documentation in line with enterprise architecture standards.
- Resolve production issues, monitor system performance, and ensure data integrity across all environments.
- Develop and manage SSRS/BI reports including drill-throughs, subscriptions, and performance tuning.
- Integrate solutions with monitoring platforms (e.g., MaaS) and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git.
- Provide mentorship to junior developers and promote best practices in coding and system design.
- Liaise with architecture, service management, and third-party vendors to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with strategic goals.
- Support incident management, audit readiness, and IT security compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
SQL Development
- Advanced T-SQL expertise including:
- Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Indexing
- Transactions, Error Handling, Data Integrity, Query Optimization
SSIS / ETL
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- ETL Process Design, Data Flow, Control Flow, Package Deployment
- Error Logging, Scheduling (via SSMS, SQL Server Agent)
Reporting
- Proficiency in SSRS:
- Report Design, Datasets, Parameters, Drill-throughs, Subscriptions
Integration & Automation
- Experience with:
- IIS (Internet Information Services)
- Automation tools: Ansible, Chef
- CI/CD: Jenkins, Git
- Scripting: PowerShell, BAT
- Logging Frameworks: Elasticsearch
- Messaging Queues: Kafka or similar (AMQP)
Other Skills
- Strong understanding of Finance/Billing system workflows and complex calculations
- Experience with Java and/or C# (nice to have)
- Agile/DevOps and SDLC best practices
- Knowledge of iCorp or Unit4/Coda Finance packages (highly desirable)
- Logistics or supply chain domain experience (a plus)
