Salary range: Rs 1200000 - Rs 2400000 (ie INR 12-24 LPA)

Backend Engineer

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Architecture: Design scalable and maintainable backend architectures and services using modern development practices.
• API Development: Build secure, performant, and scalable RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs for consumption by mobile and web applications.
• Database Management: Design, implement, and optimize database schemas (SQL and/or NoSQL) for high performance and reliability.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Follow best practices in version control, testing, and CI/CD workflows.
• Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and improve application performance and scalability.
• Security & Reliability: Implement best practices for backend security and ensure system reliability through monitoring and alerting.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and QA to deliver high-quality products on time.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-6 years of hands-on experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or Ruby.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience in unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD).
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and containerization tools like Docker.
• Understanding of cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and microservices architecture is a strong plus.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Exposure to message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.) and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI).
• Prior experience working in a startup or product-based company
