About the Role

MySQL Developer / Database Administrator


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust MySQL database architectures for telephony applications
  • Optimize complex queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies for large-scale datasets
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and replication strategies (e.g., MySQL Group Replication, Galera Cluster)
  • Monitor database performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks and anomalies
  • Collaborate with development teams to design efficient data models and schema
  • Manage database security, access controls, and compliance with telecom data regulations
  • Automate backup, restore, and archival processes using scripting and cloud-native tools
  • Support real-time analytics and reporting pipelines for call logs, IVR flows, and usage metrics
  • Work closely with CTO to integrate database operations into CI/CD workflows.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in MySQL development and administration
  • Proven experience in cloud telephony platforms (e.g., Twilio, Exotel, Plivo, Knowlarity)
  • Strong knowledge of telecom data structures: CDRs, IVR logs, call routing metadata
  • Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and partitioning strategies
  • Hands-on experience with replication, clustering, and high-availability setups
  • Proficiency in Linux shell scripting, automation tools, and monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Percona Toolkit)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS RDS/Aurora, GCP Cloud SQL, or Azure Database for MySQL)
  • Understanding of data privacy, security, and telecom compliance standards.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB) for caching and real-time data
  • Exposure to Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, or open-source PBX systems
  • Knowledge of ETL pipelines and integration with BI tools (e.g., Metabase, Grafana)
  • Contributions to database performance audits or open-source tools.
