Who we're looking for:

We are looking for a seasoned Risk Manager to lead the development and execution of credit and fraud risk strategies for credit card products. You will work across the lifecycle — from acquisition and underwriting to portfolio monitoring, fraud prevention, and line management ensuring optimal risk return outcomes and regulatory compliance. You will also be responsible for developing a strong risk culture within the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Strategy and Framework Development: Design and implement a comprehensive, data driven risk management framework tailored for a digital banking environment.
• Credit Risk Strategy: Design, implement, and monitor credit risk strategies for unsecured lending portfolios.
• Fraud Risk Management: Establish fraud risk controls and implement machine learning based fraud detection systems.
• Model Development: Build and enhance risk decision models (CART, logistic regression, etc.) for underwriting, credit line assignment, and loss forecasting.
• Risk Mitigation: Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate risks across business cycles to protect customer and business outcomes.
• Data Analysis and Insights: Leverage data to analyze trends, evaluate features, and continuously improve risk assessment and credit expansion strategies.
• Cross functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Data Science, Compliance, and Collections teams to optimize risk controls and underwriting frameworks.
• Risk Infrastructure: Collaborate with engineering and data teams to implement risk strategies into decision engines and operational systems.
• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a team of risk professionals, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with RBI regulations, internal policies, and global risk standards including Basel II/III.
• Stakeholder Management: Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and contribute to key governance forums.

What is needed for this role:

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in credit and fraud risk management.
• Experience in unsecured lending, preferably credit cards.
• Strong understanding of credit policy, loss forecasting, fraud analytics, and risk return optimisation.
• MBA from a Tier 1 institute (IIMs, ISB) or equivalent; B. Tech from IIT/NIT or similar preferred.
• Proven leadership skills and experience building or mentoring a high-performing risk team.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Brownie Points for:

• Experience mentoring juniors or managing agency/vendor partners.
• Exposure to credit or payment products and their risk/compliance nuances.
• Familiarity with predictive models (churn or upsell propensity) and large-scale marketing automation.
