Sr Production Manager

This position is for our client.

Position Overview:

The Production Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the end-to-end production process of our garments. This includes liaising with jobworkers / contract manufacturers, ensuring compliance with quality standards, maintaining production schedules, and managing inventory levels for fabric and trims. The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all production activities are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Coordination:

• Develop and implement monthly jobwork POs in coordination with the sales team.
• Create and execute POs for the FOB garments 
• Liaise with the product development team for new product categories or collections 
• Provide ACCURATE delivery timelines to management for jobwork and FOB POs and ensure all production milestones are met.

Vendor Management:

• Select and maintain relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Develop and manage production budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining product quality.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within the production cycle.
• Constant sourcing of established and professional suppliers
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure the best value without compromising quality.
• Conduct regular assessments and audits of manufacturing partners to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitoring vendor payables and ensuring that accounting team is appraised of production issues that may lead to vendor penalties or other issues.

Quality Assurance:

• Establish and enforce quality control standards and procedures to ensure all products meet the company’s high standards for garment specs and fabric and print quality.
• Work closely with the product development and design team to ensure that product specifications are clearly communicated and understood by manufacturers.
• Ensuring that the quality control team follows relevant protocols for quality audit and all documentation is in place for all POs

Inventory and Supply Chain Management:

• Monitor inventory levels of fabric and trims and manage the flow of goods to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Ensuring that POs are issued to vendors alongwith all necessary documentation as well as relevant fabric and trims
• Ensure that accurate stock statements (including work in progress) are provided to management on a monthly basis

Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:

• Address and resolve any issues that arise during the production process, including delays, quality concerns, and supply shortages.
• Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.

Reporting and Analysis:

• Maintain detailed records of production metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management on timelines and weekly despatch schedule.
• Reconciliation of goods received against fabric sent for jobwork

2. allocation of major deviations to respective vendors and providing details to accounts team for relevant vendor payment reconciliation
3. highlighting major deviations and reasons for the same to the management

• Analyze production data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a production sourcing role within the knitted apparel industry.
• Proven experience working with contract manufacturers and managing vendor relationships.
• Strong understanding of quality control standards.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
