Job Title: Lead Backend Engineer Location: Remote Employment Type: Full-time About the Role We're looking for a Backend Engineer with familiarity with front end tech to join our fast-growing engineering team. You'll play a key role in building and scaling the core infrastructure powering our AI agentsโfrom data ingestion and document processing to audit logic and integration pipelines. Youโll work closely with our founders to ship production-grade systems that support high-volume freight workflows and power real-time financial decision-making. What Youโll Do ๐๐ผ Design and build scalable backend systems to support AI-driven invoice and document processing ๐๐ผ Integrate with freight industry systemsโTMSs, FMS, factoring portals, and ERPs ๐๐ผ Develop APIs, data pipelines, and audit engines that drive automation ๐๐ผ Collaborate with AI/ML teams to productionize model outputs ๐๐ผ Implement observability, performance monitoring, and logging across services ๐๐ผ Help shape engineering best practices in a fast-paced, early-stage environment ๐๐ผ Make frontend updates as necessary What Weโre Looking For ๐๐ผ 5+ years experience building backend systems in production ๐๐ผ Strong programming skills in Python, Node.js, or Flask ๐๐ผ Deep understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures ๐๐ผ Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other SQL/NoSQL systems ๐๐ผ Comfort working in cloud environments like AWS, using Docker/Kubernetes ๐๐ผ Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote-first team ๐๐ผ Self-starter mindsetโyou take ownership and move fast Nice to Have ๐๐ผ Experience in freight, logistics, fintech, or document-heavy domains ๐๐ผ Exposure to AI/ML workflows and integrating model outputs into backend systems ๐๐ผ Familiarity with message queues (e.g. SQS, Kafka) ๐๐ผ Background in building secure, enterprise-grade software ๐๐ผ Familiarity with frontend javascript tech What We Offer ๐ฐ Competitive salary ๐ Fully remote ๐ ๏ธ Chance to shape foundational systems at an early-stage startup ๐ Work on real-world problems with massive impact Join Us If youโre a backend engineer excited to build AI-powered systems that actually do things, not just analyze thingsโcome build with us.
