Job Summary

The Automation Engineer / Project Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of automation projects, primarily focusing on PLC, SCADA, HMI programming, and system integration. This role involves managing projects from concept to completion, ensuring technical excellence, adherence to timelines, and strong client communication. The ideal candidate will possess a solid engineering background, hands-on experience with automation technologies, and a proven ability to manage projects effectively.

Responsibilities


  • Project Lifecycle Management:
    • Manage automation projects from initiation to closure, including scope definition, planning, execution, monitoring, and control.
    • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation schedules.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • System Design Development:
    • Design and develop PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, Mitsubishi) based on functional requirements and process flows.
    • Develop SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications for process visualization, data acquisition, and control (e.g., WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, Ignition).
    • Configure and integrate various automation components, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
  • FAT/SAT Commissioning:
    • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) with clients to validate system functionality.
    • Perform on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of automation systems at client locations in Pune and across India.
    • Provide technical support during startup and post-commissioning phases.
  • Technical Documentation:
    • Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including functional design specifications (FDS), software design specifications (SDS), system architecture diagrams, I/O lists, user manuals, and test reports.
  • Client Stakeholder Communication:
    • Serve as a key technical point of contact for clients, understanding their requirements, addressing concerns, and providing regular project updates.
    • Collaborate effectively with internal teams (e.g., Sales, Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Production) to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Troubleshooting Support:
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing automation systems, diagnosing and resolving operational issues promptly.
  • Quality Standards:
    • Ensure all designs and implementations adhere to industry best practices, safety standards, and relevant quality guidelines.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated with the latest automation technologies, software, and industry trends.
    • Propose and implement improvements to design processes, tools, and methodologies.
