Our team is looking for an Software Engineer who applies engineering principles to build & improve existing systems. In this role, you will

• Implement products and solutions that are highly scalable with high-quality, clean, maintainable, optimized, modular and well-documented code across the technology stack. [OR - Writing code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, modular.]
• Crafting API's, developing and testing applications and services to ensure they meet design requirements.
• Work collaboratively with all members of the technical staff and other partners to build and ship outstanding software in a fast-paced environment.
• Applying knowledge of software design principles and Agile methodologies & tools.
• Resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur with help from peers or managers. Follow through on details and drive issues to closure.
• Assist with supporting production systems (investigate issues and working towards resolution).
  

Experience and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or Masters in Computer Science & Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• 2+ years of software development or data engineering experience in an enterprise-level engineering environment.
• Proficient with Object Oriented Programming concepts with a strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, Data Engineering (at scale), and Computer Science fundamentals.
• Experience with Java, Scala, Spring framework, Micro-service architecture, Orchestration of containerized applications along with a good grasp of OO design with strong design patterns knowledge.
• Solid understanding of different API types (e.g. REST, GraphQL, gRPC), access patterns and integration.
• Prior knowledge & experience of NoSQL databases (e.g. ElasticSearch, ScyllaDB, MongoDB).
• Prior knowledge & experience of big data platforms, batch processing (e.g. Spark, Hive), stream processing (e.g. Kafka, Flink) and cloud-computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services.
• Knowledge & Understanding of monitoring tools, testing (performance, functional), application debugging & tuning.
• Good communication skills in written and verbal form with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.
