Quality Assurance Automation Lead - Selenium/Cypress

Role Summary

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall QA automation strategy, roadmap, and best practices.
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust automation frameworks for UI, API, and performance testing.
• Work closely with developers, DevOps, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure complete test coverage and risk mitigation.
• Guide and mentor a team of QA engineers; review test scripts and ensure coding standards are maintained.
• Ensure automation suites are integrated into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement in the existing testing processes and tools.
• Monitor and report on test execution, defect metrics, and overall product quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Ensure traceability from requirements to test cases and maintain clear documentation.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and trends in automation and quality Skills Required :
• Strong experience in automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or equivalent.
• Proficient in programming languages like Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience with API testing using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and build tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Experience working with version control systems (Git) and test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, Xray).
• Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, SpecFlow is preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL and database testing.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is & Experience :
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in building and scaling automation test frameworks from scratch.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent is a plus.
