Key Responsibilities

Test Automation & QA

• Create and maintain automated test suites for backend services using Jest.
• Develop frontend test scripts using Playwright to validate UI flows, cross-browser compatibility, and user journeys.
• Integrate automation tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous feedback on code quality.
• Debug and resolve test failures, performance bottlenecks, and application issues.
  

Quality Assurance

• Work closely with product owners, developers, and QA teams to define and refine test plans and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct code reviews, identify potential risks, and suggest improvements for maintainability and performance.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment to ensure timely and high-quality deliveries.
  

Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Product, and DevOps) for seamless product delivery.
• Maintain clear, detailed, and comprehensive documentation for both development and testing processes.
• Provide mentorship and guidance on best practices in both software development and automated testing to junior team members.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• MERN Stack Proficiency: Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
• Backend Testing with Jest: Proven track record of implementing automated tests for RESTful APIs and backend services using Jest.
• Frontend Testing with Playwright: Experience writing robust automated UI tests with Playwright (or similar tools such as Puppeteer/Cypress with willingness to switch to Playwright).
• API Testing & Integration: Familiarity with Postman, Swagger, or other API testing tools and concepts of microservices or service-oriented architecture.
• Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD): Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills with attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly.
• Collaboration: Ability to work efficiently in an Agile, fast-paced environment, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements and priorities.
  

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  

Work Experience

• 3+ years of experience in full-stack development with the MERN stack (or a similar JavaScript-based environment).
• 2+ years of experience in test automation frameworks, specifically Jest and Playwright (or strong QA automation experience with the willingness to learn these tools).
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Docker or container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of performance testing and security testing practices.
• Understanding of GraphQL and/or React Query.
