Responsibilities
- The Network Specialist will be responsible for managing IT Infrastructure operations which includes overseeing daily tasks such as server replacements, security implementations, and responding to user reports.
- The role also involves coordinating the IT Infrastructure team, ensuring the security and privacy of digital and physical assets, maintaining optimal network performance, and staying current with industry standards.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative and may take on additional business-impacting projects.
- Lead and manage the IT Infrastructure team, setting departmental goals and performance standards.
- Develop and manage the IT Infrastructure budget effectively.
- Plan, deploy, and maintain all IT Infrastructure systems and operations.
- Optimize server farms, network bandwidth, and ensure robust network security.
- Establish and implement IT Infrastructure policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in IT Infrastructure and related technologies.
- Promote and enforce best practices for IT Infrastructure across the organization.
- Align IT Infrastructure strategies and processes with the overall business objectives.
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Communicate the benefits, risks, and impact of new IT Infrastructure projects to staff and key management.

- Server Management
- Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers (Ubuntu/Linux/UNIX) to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Apply regular system updates, security patches, and software upgrades.
- Maintain comprehensive inventories of server hardware and software assets.
- Monitor server performance metrics and implement strategies for optimization.
- Plan and manage resource scaling and allocation to support organizational growth.
- Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery plans.
- Conduct regular testing of disaster recovery procedures to ensure reliability.
- Enforce server security through strong access control policies, encryption, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Configure firewalls, VPNs, and other security tools to safeguard sensitive data.
- Automate repetitive system administration tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python to enhance operational efficiency.
- Install, configure, and maintain databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB), ensuring they meet security and performance requirements.
- Monitor and analyze database performance, address bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
- Regularly optimize database queries and indexes to improve efficiency and response times.
- Apply database security best practices, including encryption, role-based access control, and routine audits.
- Manage virtualized environments (e.g., XCP-ng) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure [OCI], and Google Cloud Platform [GCP]).
- Ensure efficient resource allocation, scalability, and high availability of virtual and cloud-based systems.
Qualification/s
- (a) Master s Degree in Computer Application / Computer Science/
- Information Technology/ E & TC or equivalent from any recognized
- University
- OR
- (b) Bachelor s / Master s Degree (BE / BTech / ME / MTech) with
- specialization in Computer Engineering / Computer Technology /
- Information Technology/ E & TC or equivalent from any recognized
- University
