Information Technology Manager

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the organization’s IT infrastructure and SAP systems by ensuring seamless integration of hardware, software, and ERP solutions to support day-to-day business operations, system scalability, and digital transformation initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

🔧 Hardware & Infrastructure Management:

• Oversee installation, configuration, and upkeep of desktops, laptops, servers, routers, switches, and printers.
• Manage data center infrastructure including physical servers, virtual machines, storage, and backups.
• Ensure high availability of all hardware systems with minimal downtime.
• Manage asset inventory, IT procurement, AMC/CMC contracts, and vendor negotiations.
• Plan for infrastructure scalability, upgrades, and lifecycle replacements.

🧩 SAP System Management:

• Oversee SAP system administration and coordination with functional consultants (MM, SD, FICO, PP, etc.).
• Ensure timely SAP patch updates, system performance monitoring, and database integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to identify system enhancement requirements.
• Drive SAP training and support for end-users and ensure issue resolutions.
• Lead SAP rollouts, migrations (e.g., ECC to S/4HANA), and integrations with third-party applications.

🛡️ IT Security & Compliance:

• Implement IT security frameworks including firewall, antivirus, encryption, and access control.
• Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments and mitigate risks.
• Manage data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning (BCP).
• Ensure compliance with ISO, GDPR, and other regulatory IT standards.

📊 Team & Project Management:

• Lead a team of system administrators, network engineers, and support staff.
• Prioritize, assign, and track progress of IT support and development requests.
• Manage IT helpdesk operations and ensure SLA compliance.
• Drive project planning, budgeting, and implementation of IT projects (new sites, upgrades, ERP integration, etc.).

📈 Strategy, Innovation & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Assess current technology infrastructure and recommend improvements.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives aligned with business strategy.
• Engage with senior leadership to forecast IT needs and propose solutions.
• Evaluate new tools and trends for cloud adoption, automation, or data analytics relevant to IT infrastructure.

·      Schedule and monitor regular backups of SAP systems, databases, and business-critical files.

✅ Required Exposure – In-House Servers:

·      Experience managing physical and virtual in-house servers in an enterprise or manufacturing setup

·      Familiarity with server OS (Windows Server, Linux/Ubuntu), Active Directory, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)

·      Hands-on with RAID configurations, data redundancy planning, and local backup systems

·      Comfortable working with server room infrastructure, patch panels, and onsite troubleshooting.

Qualification & Experience:

• Education:

• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science / IT / Electronics OR MCA
• ITIL / PMP / SAP Certification (Preferred)

• Experience:

• 10–15 years in IT roles with at least 4+ years in a managerial position
• Strong experience in hardware/network infrastructure and SAP ERP (preferably ECC or S/4HANA)

• Technical Skills:

• SAP administration & coordination (basic ABAP knowledge is a plus)
• Windows/Linux server management, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
• Knowledge of database systems (Oracle, HANA, SQL Server)
• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, VPNs, Firewalls, Endpoint Security
• Data center operations and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure – optional)
