Role Definition Oversees and conducts Strategy & Planning (S&P) research including strategy, data collection, analyses, modelling and engagement reporting. Responsibilities Performs complex qualitative and quantitative research for S&P engagements using advanced research knowledge and techniques. Determines research strategy, leads and oversees data collection and analysis for major S&P consulting engagements. Performs complex research analyses using sophisticated models and techniques to derive key S&P trends, insights and conclusions. Works closely with consultants and engagement management to synthesize research findings as S&P recommendations. Quantitative Research: Knowledge of research concept, tools and methods; the ability to use numerical methods to compile information about a given situation or condition. Level Extensive Experience: Evaluates scenarios where quantitative research has failed to deliver needed information. Communicates in a clear and convincing manner on research recommendations. Utilizes stochastic, linear and non-linear programming and other analysis techniques. Teaches others how to derive accurate conclusions based on quantitative trials. Implements quantitative research to prove or disprove theories in multiple applications successfully. Interprets all assumptions and variables that factor into research conclusions. Research Analysis: Knowledge of the concepts, methodologies and methods of research analysis; ability to locate, interpret and evaluate research findings compiled and documented by others. Level Extensive Experience: Interprets new findings and analyzes their validity. Advises on advanced research analysis methods. Evaluates research analysis best practices within the industry. Analyzes published research reports and their possible implications. Implements research analysis standards within the organization. Controls the quality of research analysis. Research Documentation: Knowledge of documentation responsibilities; ability to utilize tools and techniques for producing well-written, meaningful and usable documentation of research findings. Level Extensive Experience: Designs, writes and publishes numerous research documents on diverse topics. Edits and revises research documents written by others. Evaluates procedural differences between hardcopy publishing versus web publishing documentation. Determines which types of graphs and charts to use to best communicate research findings. Guides others on the proper method for citing, footnoting and documenting other researchers' work. Facilitates implementation of websites designed to contain published research.
