About The Role
We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our SaaS Team, which powers the SaaS platform enabling agencies to build reliable and sustainable business models on Highlevel.

are responsible for delivering a reliable, secure, and performant infrastructure that handles millions of time-critical operations — powering subscription checkouts, payment solutions, billing operations with billions of transactions every month.SaaS platform has
enabled 30-40 agencies to create multi million dollar businesses
on top of Highlevel and thousands of other SaaSPreneursTM to create sustainable business models. SaaS drives one of the major revenue streams for Highlevel where thousands of customers utilise the features to offer customised plans by whitelabeling Highlevel according to their niche and move away from traditional service market of marketing.As a Staff Engineer, you’ll lead the technical direction of the platform, solve complex distributed system problems, and mentor engineers across squads. You’ll partner closely with PMs, designers, infra, and security teams to drive long-term architecture, elevate engineering standards, and ensure seamless user experiences at scale.experiences at scale.
Responsibilities
- Own architecture and scaling decisions for key SaaS platform components (e.g., Subscription Management, Subaccount Reporting, Wallet + Transaction system, Billing APIs)
- Lead design and execution of cross-cutting initiatives to improve reliability, latency, and throughput across time-sensitive APIs and workflows
- Work hands-on with technologies like NestJS, Firestore, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Queuing Systems, Data Warehousing Systems and Service Mesh-based microservices
- Drive observability and resilience by evolving our monitoring, alerting (Prometheus/Grafana), and incident response strategiesLeverage LLMs and AI tools to write, refactor, test, and debug code efficiently — while implementing guardrails to reduce hallucination and boost reliability.
- Partner with product, infra, and security teams to ensure data integrity, access control, and subscription management
- Mentor and guide a team of high-performing engineers, encouraging technical excellence and career growth
- Stay on the bleeding edge of AI/LLM technology, development best practices, and distributed architecture patterns — and bring that knowledge back to the team.
- Participate in design reviews, deep dives, and on-call rotations to support a high-bar culture of accountability and operational excellence
Requirements:
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience, including designing fault-tolerant systems and working on high-scale platforms.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous job processing
- Proven experience optimizing availability, performance, and reliability in real-world systems under load
- Strong experience with relational and NoSQL data models (especially with complex transactional data)
- Deep knowledge of Frontend Systems with any frameworks (Angular, VueJS, React) and familiarity with Design Principles and User Experience
- Familiarity with monitoring, SLOs, and root-cause analysis in production environments
- Familiarity with hallucination mitigation strategies (e.g., code constraints, test scaffolding, embeddings, context injection).
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- A pragmatic, hands-on leader who balances long-term vision with iterative execution
