Job Title: Human Resource Manager – Food Industry Location: Madurai Department: Human Resources

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resource Manager to join our team within the food manufacturing sector. The HR Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources management, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, training, and development. With 7+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or food industry environment, the ideal candidate will play a key role in fostering a positive and efficient work environment, ensuring the alignment of HR policies and practices with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to meet the staffing needs of production and operational teams.
  • Oversee the full recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, onboarding, and orientation for new hires.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify skill gaps and plan recruitment accordingly.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Act as the point of contact for employees regarding HR-related concerns, ensuring a healthy and supportive work environment.
  • Mediate conflicts and address employee grievances to maintain a harmonious workplace.
  • Foster positive employee relations, ensuring effective communication between staff and management.
  • Performance Management & Development:
  • Lead the performance management process, including setting KPIs, conducting performance reviews, and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Identify training and development needs, and coordinate with relevant departments to provide necessary training programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Support leadership in succession planning and talent development within the organization.
  • Compliance & Labor Laws:
  • Ensure the company complies with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations specific to the food manufacturing industry.
  • Update HR policies and procedures to reflect changing labor laws, including safety standards and wage regulations.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace.
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration:
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate compensation for all employees.
  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, and wellness) and provide information and guidance to employees regarding benefits.
  • Workplace Health and Safety:
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager to implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to OSHA standards.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions for employees to maintain high standards of health and safety.
  • HR Strategy & Reporting:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives.
  • Provide regular HR reports to senior management on key metrics such as turnover, retention, recruitment efforts, and employee satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in a human resources role, with at least 3 years in a managerial position in the food industry, manufacturing, or factory settings.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and employee relations in the food industry. Familiarity with safety and health regulations in manufacturing environments is essential.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in HR software (e.g., HRIS systems, payroll software).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience in managing unionized workforces or labor relations.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and manage cross-functional collaborations effectively.
  • Fluent in [language(s)] as required for communication within the company and with external partners.
