E. Shaw India. The team focuses on platforms and applications in the Windows desktop, and mobile environment. EUC uses a combination of technologies, policies, and processes to provide users with the means to access applications, desktops, and data efficiently and securely. Our globally distributed EUC engineers manage and leverage various technologies in the space of remote access, endpoint management, mobility, and user-productivity to deliver value to our distributed workforce. We foster an automation-driven culture, utilizing PowerShell and Python to increase efficiency, reliability and scalability of our systems and processes. The team collaborates closely with Platforms, SRE (Site Reliability Engineering), Application Engineering and Helpdesk teams, and serves as an escalation point for technology solutions and processes in the user space.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
In this role, you will be responsible for administering and supporting the firm's Windows desktop infrastructure, including configuration, deployment, and patch management. You will engage in managing and optimizing Citrix and other remote access solutions to ensure high availability and performance. You will also aid in modernizing and maintaining cloud and mobile service delivery mechanisms (e.g., Microsoft Cloud 365, MDM solutions), often working cross-functionally with other engineering teams. Furthermore, you will work on designing and implementing automation solutions using PowerShell and Python to streamline system operations and enhance user experience. Additionally, you will support and manage enterprise application ecosystems, including Office 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and related SaaS tools and act as a key point of escalation for complex technical issues related to user endpoints, diagnosing, and resolving incidents to maintain operational stability. You will partner with other IT and business teams to deliver projects, support infrastructure rollouts, and continuously enhance end-user productivity. Finally, you will be responsible for gathering user feedback, evaluating technology performance, and recommending optimizations in line with industry best practices.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Basic qualifications:
- A bachelor’s/master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering or a related technical discipline, with at least 5 years of experience in the end user computing domain
- Solid understanding of Windows desktop environments and the Microsoft Office ecosystem
- Hands-on experience with Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) tools, such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Ivanti, Workspace One, Microsoft Intune, or ManageEngine Endpoint Central
- A good grasp of core computer science fundamentals, such as Networking, DNS/DHCP/NTP, Active Directory, Domain Services, and authentication protocols (Kerberos, SAML, OIDC)
- Proven experience automating administrative tasks or system management using PowerShell, Python, or C#
- Familiarity with remote access technologies (Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, VMware Horizon, AWS Workspaces, or Azure Virtual Desktop)
- Working knowledge of SaaS applications, particularly Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, or SharePoint Online
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills: You can break down complex issues and perform thorough, and logical analysis
- Understanding of best practices in Desktop/Mobile Configuration Management, software deployment, patching, CI/CD, change management, and incident/RCA processes
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with a client-service mindset and a passion for technology
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale infrastructure rollouts and a solid understanding of project management principles
