Overview

UPS is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior UX Designer to join our Symphony product team. UPS Supply Chain Symphony allows our customers to connect every aspect of their global supply chains to UPS's intelligent logistics network, puts powerful new digital tools at customers fingertips.In this role, you will lead end-to-end design initiatives—partnering with product managers, researchers, engineers, and fellow designers to deliver intuitive, scalable, and accessible digital experiences that power the world’s most trusted logistics network. You will be a design leader, advocating for user-centered thinking, mentoring junior designers, and contributing to our enterprise design system.Key Responsibilities

Lead Design Initiatives

Own the full UX design lifecycle for complex web and mobile applications—from discovery and user research to wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, usability testing, and final developer handoff.

Define UX Strategy

Collaborate with product stakeholders to define user goals, translate business requirements into design solutions, and ensure alignment with the broader product vision.

Contribute To Design Systems

Evolve and maintain UPS’s enterprise design system, ensuring consistency, reusability, and scalability across products.

Conduct User Research

Plan and lead user interviews, usability tests, and focus groups. Synthesize findings into personas, user journeys, and actionable insights to inform design decisions.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible, accessible (WCAG AA+), and performance optimized. Support implementation with detailed design specs and participation in sprint ceremonies.

Visual & Interaction Design

Produce pixel-perfect mockups, interactive prototypes, and comprehensive UI specifications using tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD. Define motion patterns and micro-interactions as needed.

Mentorship & Design Culture

Provide coaching and feedback to junior and mid-level designers. Lead design critiques, facilitate workshops, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Communicate With Stakeholders

Present design concepts, trade-offs, and user research insights to senior leadership. Champion design rationale and link user outcomes to measurable business impact (e.g., engagement, conversion, task success).

Continuous Learning & Improvement

Stay informed on UX trends, tools, and best practices. Identify opportunities to optimize workflows, implement methodologies (e.g., DesignOps), and share knowledge within the team.

Qualifications

• Overall 8+ years but at least 5+ years of UX/UI design experience with a strong portfolio.
• Bachelor’s degree or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Expert proficiency in Figma; experience with Sketch or Adobe XD is a plus.
