Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BI Developer to lead and execute the migration of reporting solutions from WebFOCUS to Power BI. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with both platforms and a strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and visualization best practices. This role will work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and end-users to ensure a smooth and value-driven transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical migration of reports, dashboards, and data models from WebFOCUS to Power BI.
  • Analyze existing WebFOCUS assets to assess complexity and reusability in Power BI.
  • Design and develop scalable, efficient Power BI reports and dashboards aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, functionality, and user experience in the new Power BI solutions.
  • Optimize DAX queries and Power BI datasets for performance.
  • Work closely with data engineering to ensure availability of required data in the appropriate format.
  • Provide documentation, user training, and support to facilitate adoption.
  • Troubleshoot migration and performance issues across both legacy and new systems.
  • Ensure data security and governance compliance across reporting solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in BI/reporting development, with at least 2 years in Power BI.
  • Strong hands-on experience with

    WebFOCUS

    including report development and data access layer.
  • Proven experience with

    Power BI

    , including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and visual design.
  • Understanding of SQL, data warehouses, and dimensional modeling.
  • Experience in data migration or system modernization projects.
  • Knowledge of ETL tools and scripting for data transformation.
  • Ability to analyze and refactor legacy code to modern BI standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
