Bigbasket - Lead Software Development Engineer - Test - Automation Testing

What would you be doing/ Expected from this role?

• Test Automation Leadership : Lead the development and maintenance of automated test frameworks using tools like Rest Assured, Selenium, and Postman.
• API Testing : Design and implement robust API testing strategies, leveraging tools like RestAssured and Postman to ensure that APIs meet functional, performance, and security standards.
• Debugging and Troubleshooting : Diagnose and debug complex issues within automation frameworks, applications, and API responses to ensure the quality of our products.
• Continuous Integration : Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and continuous testing.
• Code Review & Mentoring : Review code written by junior team members and provide guidance and mentorship to foster skills development and ensure code quality.
• Database Testing : Use MySQL to query databases for validation of data integrity and perform backend testing.
• Collaboration : Work closely with development and product teams to understand product requirements, system architectures, and assist in test case design.
  

Who are we looking for?

• Experience : 8+ years of experience in software testing with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Strong background in test automation and API testing.
• Technical Skills : Programming Languages : Proficiency in Java.
• Automation Tools : Expertise in Rest Assured (must have), Selenium (good to have) WebDriver, and Postman for API. JMeter for performance/load testing
• Database Skills : Experience with MySQL for querying and testing databases.
• Debugging : Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to isolate and identify issues in code, test environments, and applications.
• CI/CD Tools : Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins etc.) and how to integrate automated tests.
• Version Control : Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Testing Methodologies : Solid understanding of both manual and automated testing methodologies, including regression, functional, integration, and performance testing.
