Sr. Email Marketing Specialist

You will play a pivotal role in developing email workflows, managing mailing lists, and ensuring high deliverability and inbox placement across platforms. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing high-frequency newsletter campaigns, a keen eye for editorial detail, and a strong understanding of content-led email marketing. You will work closely with editorial, design, and growth teams to promote high-quality thought leadership, industry news, and exclusive insights, while building a strong community of subscribers.


Responsibilities:


  • Own and execute daily and weekly newsletters featuring breaking tech news, expert articles, interviews, and industry reports.
  • Promote editorial and thought leadership content (e.g., blogs, whitepapers, reports) to segmented subscriber lists with personalized messaging based on user behavior, preferences, and performance data.
  • Design, test, and optimize email templates for responsiveness, branding consistency, and performance across devices.
  • Create and manage a strategic email content calendar, aligned with publishing schedules, marketing campaigns, and brand priorities.
  • Build and manage a healthy, engaged subscriber base, focusing on list growth, retention, and lifecycle engagement.
  • Manage email tools and platforms such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, Brevo, and SendGrid for campaign execution, automation, and performance tracking.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in email marketing strategy, compliance standards, and technology advancements.
  • Optimize subject lines, preview text, layout, and CTAs to boost open rates, click-throughs, and conversions.
  • Monitor and maintain email list hygiene, including managing opt-outs, bounces, and GDPR/CAN-SPAM compliance.
  • Ensure high inboxing rates and domain reputation using industry best practices and technical oversight.


Requirements:

  • 3–4 years of experience in email marketing, preferably in media, publishing, or B2B content-focused environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing newsletters or editorial email campaigns with high frequency.
  • Deep understanding of email content strategy, audience segmentation, and engagement flows.
  • Proficiency in Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar email marketing tools.
  • Experience in ESP tools like Freshmarketer, ActiveCampaign, Brevo, etc.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to repurpose content for email in a compelling, scannable format.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in using email metrics to drive optimization and strategy.
  • Understanding of email deliverability, list hygiene, and compliance.
  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets for segmentation and performance analysis.
  • A passion for content and audience building—especially within tech, SaaS, or B2B industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
