Job Description

Summary:

Open Rainbow is seeking an experienced Senior MS SQL Developer to join our on-site team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in writing complex SQL queries and extensive experience in query optimisation and performance tuning. This role is critical to ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of our database systems.

Success in this role requires a strong ability to analyze execution plans, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions that enhance database efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making and ensure high standards of data performance across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers.
Analyze and interpret SQL Server execution plans to identify inefficiencies and implement performance improvements.
Conduct query tuning, indexing strategies, and database refactoring to improve overall system performance.
Collaborate with application developers, data analysts, and system architects to support data-related initiatives.
Perform root cause analysis for performance issues and provide long-term, scalable solutions.
Monitor database performance metrics and proactively address areas for improvement.
Ensure high standards of data integrity, availability, and security within SQL Server environments.
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members on SQL development best practices.
Support ongoing database maintenance, including index management, statistics updates, and performance monitoring.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in MS SQL Server development with a focus on performance optimization.
Strong proficiency in writing and tuning complex T-SQL queries.
Expert-level knowledge in analysing and improving SQL execution plans.
Hands-on experience with indexing, partitioning, and optimization techniques.
Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and dynamic management views (DMVs).
Solid understanding of database design, normalization, and transactional processing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
