We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead large, technically complex, and strategic engineering initiatives. You will drive execution through Engineering Managers (EMs) and Technical Program Managers (TPMs), ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-quality delivery that aligns with broader business goals. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth with proven leadership, people management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Lead multiple engineering teams and manage a group comprising EMs, TPMs and staff engineers.
• Deliver multi-stream projects with direct impact on company and team-level goals.
• Drive engineering roadmap and execution in alignment with product strategy.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Business leaders to ensure engineering delivery supports organizational objectives.
• Guide and coach EMs and TPMs on execution excellence, planning, and stakeholder communication.
• Participate in manpower planning, team structure, and hiring strategy.
• Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, manage underperformance, and lead career development for EMs/TPMs.
• Champion a culture of learning, collaboration, and accountability.
• Actively manage senior stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment with technical decisions and delivery timelines.
• Accountable for the overall technical output of all teams under your leadership.
• Optimize delivery metrics (quality, velocity, reliability) and ensure visibility to senior leadership.
• Contribute hands-on in reviews, architecture, and troubleshooting when required.
• Be the go-to expert in at least one tech stack, with working knowledge of others.
• Lead initiatives that span across pods and domains, influencing system architecture and product evolution.
• Continuously improve technical processes, development practices, and engineering operations.
• Define and evolve engineering strategies for product scalability, security, and reliability.
• Lead incident resolution and critical troubleshooting across engineering areas.
• Guide adoption of modern DevOps, CI/CD, and observability practices.
• Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams across Product, Design, QA, and Business.
• Lead cross-stream engineering initiatives and contribute to organization-wide programs.
• Share knowledge via reviews, workshops, or playbooks to uplift overall org capability.
• Actively shape strategic direction, roadmaps, and OKRs through data-driven insights.
• Identify team skill gaps and define hiring plans for current and future needs.
• Lead recruitment efforts for leadership and senior technical talent across the org.
• Scale teams thoughtfully while preserving high-performance culture.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes innovation and growth.
• 12+ years of experience in software development, with 4+ years in engineering leadership roles.
• Proven track record of leading delivery for large, complex software programs.
• Experience managing managers (EMs/TPMs) and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Deep technical expertise in system design, distributed architecture, and cloud technologies.
• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities in ambiguous or high-pressure situations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence at all levels.
• Hands-on familiarity with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software practices.
• Exposure to fintech platforms and regulatory environments.
• Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines or big data infrastructure.
• Experience working with global teams in multi-cultural environments.
• Thought leadership through external talks, blogs, or contributions to open-source.
