As a Rotating Equipment Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our routine operations, and driving innovation on the Turbomechanica platform. From collaborating with customers to leading cutting-edge technical initiatives, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of predictive analytics and contributing Mechademy’s continued success.


Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze live customer plant data and flag issues with machines, and/or diagnose the cause of equipment alerts. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and deliver actionable recommendations. 
  • Work with subject matter experts to build & test new physics-based assets on Mechademy's  Turbomechanica platform 
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to drive diagnostics on the platform. 
  • Use a data driven approach to improve the reliability and availability of critical equipment. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to our customers, helping diagnose and solve complex issues with rotating equipment. 
  • Serve as a technical authority during customer meetings, showcasing Mechademy’s expertise and innovation. 
  • Collaborate with the software development team, the data science team and the remote monitoring team to improve software features and diagnostic accuracy based on field feedback. 
  • Drive process improvements and standardization in diagnostic workflows and reporting practices. 
  • Embrace the dynamic nature of a startup by contributing to a variety of initiatives as needed. 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years of industrial experience with significant hands-on exposure to rotating equipment, including compressors, pumps, gas turbines, and steam turbines
  • Strong expertise in root cause analysis, fault detection, and troubleshooting of rotating equipment
  • Ability to review and understand P&IDs, PFEs, PFDs, and HMBDs. 
  • Solid understanding of core engineering principles, particularly in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
  • Working knowledge of vibration analysis and rotor dynamics
  • Familiarity with physics-based performance models and their integration with AI or data-driven models
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset
  • Proficiency in Python programming language is a strong plus
  • Proficient in applying machine learning algorithms and data analytics to assess and enhance equipment performance is a plus
  • Experience with IoT platforms and real-time monitoring tools such as System 1, SCADA, DCS, or OSIsoft PI - is a strong advantage
