QA Automation Engineer Sr. 1

The Quality Assurance Automation Engineer Senior is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, enhancing and executing automated testing of web, mobile and windows applications for both on-premise and cloud-based applications. In addition, the position is responsible for mentoring, training and assisting other Quality Assurance Engineers with building and maintaining automated test suites.

• Design and develop test automation scenarios to validate software solutions (for API and UI tests). Identify and implement refactoring of automation code where needed.

• Work with project teams to assess the application from automation perspective.

• Lead and mentor other QA team members in the principles, practice and implementation of automated testing.

• Work with operations teams to utilize automation tests in CI/CD pipeline

• Lead reporting of automation progress, effectiveness and results across the IT enterprise

• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Proficient with test automation tools and technologies and knowledge of code logic to support the tools and tests

.• Ability to create automation scripts using C#, JavaScript and/or VB.NET, specifically developing functions, adding control flow logic, loops etc.

• Strong SQL knowledge and understanding of relational DBs.
• Understand the importance of application code testing at the appropriate level (unit, interface, API, UX)
• Thorough understanding of Quality Assurance processes for software application testing

.• Thorough knowledge of designated testing tool suite such as HP Quality Center or Azure DevOps.• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC TO JOB

• Must be a self-starter and able to work under minimal supervision.
• Ability to prioritize and be flexible in rearranging priorities across multiple projects and deadlines.
• High level of attention to detail.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5 years of handson experience developing automated test scripts for UI and API tests

MANAGEMENT

• Experience with leading project-based teams of testers

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in Selenium creating UI & API test scripts
• Experience with automated testing of application solutions hosted in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.

• Experience with integrating test automation into continuous integration/continuous development functions• Strongknowledge of SQL
