As an Project Accountant with Worley,
you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc…. Reporting to the Project Accounting Manager, the Project Accountant is responsible to provide timely and reliable information for financial reporting, day to day support across the Finance and Accounting team for Vancouver and Pickering offices in Canada. This role will focuses on system based transactions, and analysis for multiple projects and/or business streams, varying in size.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Running Oracle system reports for various business steams and projects to support month-end transactions and reporting.
- Booking revenue transactions based on Percent Completion calculations on lump sum projects.
- Supporting with maintenance on GBS projects, including creation of projects & tasks on existing projects and ensure financial accuracy of transactions
- Assist with month-end reporting, including reconciliations and data gathering
- Reconciliation of FX gain/ loss entries on projects and balance sheet accounts to support multicurrency transactions
- Produce monthly trend and variance reports and analyze as needed
- Prepare monthly cash inflow reports in multiple currencies
- Liase with various finance & treasury groups to ensure daily cash application transactions are done correctly.
- Prepare weekly AR past due reports and distribute internally to key stakeholders.
- Run various reports from Oracle system to support month end processes
- Enter client invoices in Oracle system
- Support finance group with Ad-Hoc analyses, variance investigations and resolution
- Full cycle Project Accountant on small projects
- Support with Accounts Payable & expense reports as needed
- Initiate and prepare journal entries
- Other tasks, duties and responsibilities as required
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- Relevant undergraduate degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project accounting or similar function
- Strong commercial acumen and technical experience in the relevant discipline and similar industry
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills
- Experience with Oracle Finance system is an asset
