Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for our solar power plant. As the O&M Head, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, maintenance, and performance optimization to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the solar power plant.

Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management: Manage day-to-day operations of the solar power plant, including monitoring system performance, production levels, and equipment functionality. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
2. Maintenance Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules for all plant equipment, including solar panels, inverters, trackers, transformers, and monitoring systems. Coordinate maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and equipment inspections.
3. Team Leadership and Development: Lead a team of technicians, engineers, and support staff responsible for O&M activities. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a high level of technical expertise and professionalism among team members.
4. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring and analytics tools to track plant performance, identify areas for improvement, and optimize energy production. Analyze performance data, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to maximize plant efficiency and uptime.
5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards governing solar power plant operations. Develop and enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety audits, and promote a culture of safety awareness among plant personnel.
6. Budgeting and Cost Management: Develop and manage the O&M budget for the solar power plant, including expenses related to labor, materials, equipment, and contracted services. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure efficient use of resources to meet budgetary targets.
7. Contractor and Vendor Management: Collaborate with external contractors, vendors, and service providers to support O&M activities, including equipment procurement, repairs, and specialized maintenance services. Negotiate contracts, manage service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
8. Performance Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular reports and presentations on plant performance, maintenance activities, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management and stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and regulatory compliance documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in operations and maintenance of utility-scale solar power plants, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• In-depth knowledge of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, electrical systems, and power plant operations.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve operational excellence.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-driven approach to managing plant operations.
• Familiarity with industry best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements related to solar power plant O&M.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools, SCADA systems, and performance monitoring software.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of renewable energy and power plant management.
