Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive

Manager – Indirect Taxation

to lead and manage all aspects of indirect tax compliance and strategy across India and Bangladesh. This critical role will ensure legal compliance while optimizing tax efficiency and supporting key business decisions .

Key Responsibilities

What you’ll do at Elekta

  • Legally minimize tax liabilities through informed application of indirect tax laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for supporting Statutory Audit especially on matters relating to GST / Customs .
  • Manage end-to-end indirect taxation including GST, customs duties, and other state-level taxes.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze tax calculations, accruals, estimates, and statutory returns.
  • Handle customs-related matters including valuation, classification, and duty determination.
  • Streamline customs operations for imports and exports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of monthly and annual GST returns.
  • Establish robust tax risk management systems and processes for the Group.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for local and regional tax matters.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and provide audit support during tax inspections.
  • Manage relationships with external tax consultants and regulatory bodies.
  • Review major business contracts and transactions to assess and minimize tax exposure.
  • Conduct internal training sessions on indirect tax compliance to reduce risk and errors.
  • Optimize input tax credit eligibility and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
  • Stay current with tax legislation and assess implications for the business.
  • Customize and manage ERP systems to support tax reporting and compliance.
  • Provide internal tax advisory services and support for business operations.
  • Lead and coordinate ad-hoc tax-driven business initiatives locally and regionally.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Accountancy and qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in indirect taxation within a Big 4 firm and/or MNC.
  • Strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in Indian GST laws.
  • Proven experience in tax planning, strategy implementation, and project management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Demonstrates business acumen and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and self-motivated with strong initiative.
  • Able to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
