Role Overview

Supply Chain Head

You will also play a critical role in building a future-ready team and embedding data-driven, scalable processes to support our next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Demand Planning, Procurement & Vendor Management

• Lead end-to-end planning from demand forecasting to procurement execution across categories.
• Drive S&OP with Sales, Retail, and Online to align purchase with demand and ensure healthy inventory levels.
• Own strategic sourcing, price negotiations, and alternate vendor development to drive cost efficiency and reduce supply risk.
• Monitor vendor performance on fill rates, QC adherence, and SLAs; address quality issues through RCA and corrective actions.

2. Warehousing & Logistics

• Oversee multi-location warehousing operations with a focus on fill rate, dispatch TAT, and SLA adherence.
• Optimize logistics planning – reduce PTL inefficiencies, dead freight, and reverse logistics costs.
• Lead layout improvements, time-motion studies, and process audits to enhance warehouse productivity.
• Ensure inventory accuracy, reconciliation, and adherence to QC standards across all nodes.
• Manage manpower productivity and cost optimisation through lean staffing models.

3. Strategic Projects & Process Transformation

• Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives: SOP mapping, BOM finalization, ERP enhancements, and integrated facility setup.
• Identify and implement tools and digital solutions to automate and streamline supply chain processes.
• Implement supply chain dashboards and tools for real-time visibility and faster decision-making.
• Standardize documentation formats & strengthen alignment with NPD, Retail, Online & Finance teams.
• Define and own key KPIs: Fill Rate, Inventory Turnover, Freight Cost as % of Revenue, SLA Adherence.

4. Leadership & Capability Building

• Build a high-performance team culture focused on ownership, reviews, and internal growth.
• Create a backup-ready structure via cross-training, succession planning, and on-ground capability building.
• Conduct regular team trainings on ERP, process discipline, and QC protocols.
• Lead strategic collaboration with other verticals to ensure supply chain readiness from day zero.



Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong business acumen with deep functional expertise in purchase, warehousing, and logistics.
• Sharp negotiation and vendor development capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with ERP, WMS, and TMS systems.
• Track record of driving fulfillment KPIs and cost reductions in high-growth environments.
• Strong execution mindset with excellent team-building and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Agility, ownership, and comfort with ambiguity — thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Background:

•  10–15 years in supply chain, purchase, and operations roles, preferably in consumer brands (FMCG, D2C, Retail)
• MBA/PGDM in Operations/Supply Chain or Engineering degree with relevant industry experience.
• Exposure to consumer-facing brands (FMCG/D2C/Retail), e-commerce platforms, or fast-growth startups.
