Head of Technology – REA Cyber City

What the role is all about:

We are excited to announce an opening for an accomplished, people-first technology leader to join us as Head of Technology at REA Cyber City (Gurugram). This is a pivotal leadership role for someone who has successfully scaled engineering organizations, thrives in product-led environments, and leads with credibility, cultural impact, and delivery discipline.

You will collaborate across geographies as part of the REA Cyber City Leadership Team, while working closely with REA Group’s headquarters in Australia to shape REA’s global technology and delivery footprint.

Your core responsibilities include:

Delivery Leadership:

• Lead complex end-to-end technology delivery, ownership of outcomes across timelines, velocity, product quality, and stakeholder engagement.
• Build delivery mechanisms that scale with business growth and enable execution at speed.
• Own communication and expectation management with global stakeholders, ensuring high levels of transparency, delivery assurance, and operational visibility.
• Balance tech strategy with execution discipline, applying servant leadership principles to unblock teams and remove systemic obstacles.
• Ensure effective collaboration across Product, Design, and Business teams to align delivery goals with business value.
• Inject and uphold Agile delivery practices, helping team members and leaders improve iteration rhythm, product feedback loops, and throughput.

Engineering Leadership:

• Scale and mature an engineering organisation, aligned to business outcomes and technical depth.
• Promote a strong engineering culture that spans quality, automation, CI/CD, and resilient architecture.
• Build solid engineering practices across Web, Backend, Cloud, AI/ML, Data Platforms, and Mobile.
• Emphasize robust programming and DevOps practices, coaching teams to write clean, testable, production-grade code.
• Support future-ready capabilities in engineering with a strong focus on AI, product engineering, and platform evolution.
• Create and institutionalize engineering governance frameworks and scalable architectural patterns.

Talent Building, Mentorship & Strategic Presence:

• Lead hiring, coaching, and succession planning for the team.
• Actively mentor and grow next-gen leaders through career paths and skill-building roadmaps.
• Leverage your deep understanding of the NCR (Delhi-NCR) tech ecosystem to build credibility and attract top talent across engineering and delivery roles.
• Be visible across internal and external forums as a culture carrier and fueling collaboration through community engagement and internal knowledge networks.
• Advocate for talent inclusion and local ecosystem contribution via community outreach.

Who we are looking for:

• 18+ years of total experience, with at least 10+ years in senior technology leadership roles in product-first organizations.
• Proven success in scaling teams, preferably in distributed product environments.
• Strong delivery management experience owning cross-functional product outcomes, not just pure engineering delivery.
• Hands-on engineering background but operates with commercial agility and a product mindset over a purely technical lens.
• Expertise across Agile methods, cloud-native engineering, data/AI platforms, mobile technologies, and modern delivery pipelines.
• Credible, inspiring leader who can influence global stakeholders, build trust through outcomes, and cultivate a culture aligned to REA’s values.
• Strong network and relationships in the Delhi-NCR tech ecosystem preferred, with a deep understanding of market dynamics.
