Data Scientist

Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of advanced machine learning models and statistical analyses to solve complex business problemsCollaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutionsManage a team of business intelligence expertsWork closely together with the technology teams in implementing new techniques into the Bank environmentsDevelop predictive models for risk assessment, fraud detection, customer behavior analysis or forecastingCreate and maintain detailed documentation of methodologies, models, and processesDesign and build scalable data pipelines and ETL workflowsPresent findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholdersMonitor model performance and implement improvements as neededEnsure compliance with banking regulations and data governance policies

Qualifications

Education:Master's degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fieldProfessional certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies are a plus

Experience

10+ years of experience in data science, with at least 4 years in the banking/financial services sectorProven track record of successfully implemented machine learning models in productionMinimum 3 years of experience managing and leading data science teamsDemonstrated experience in building and developing high-performing teams

Technical Skills

Advanced knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical modelingStrong expertise in Python, R, or similar programming languagesProficiency in SQL and experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Databricks)Experience with deep learning frameworksKnowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik)Strong understanding of version control systems (Git)Experience with MLOps and model deployments

Business Skills

Proven people management and leadership abilitiesExperience in resource planning and team capacity managementExcellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilitiesStrong communication and presentation skillsAbility to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersExperience in agile development methodologiesUnderstanding of banking and financial services domain

Domain Knowledge
