Data Science Consultant – Energy & Utilities Domain

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, dynamic, and enthusiastic Data Science Consultant with 3+ years of experience in machine learning, data analytics, dashboard development, and forecasting models, particularly in the Energy/Utilities domain. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Python, SQL, Tableau, AWS, and data engineering, with proven experience in handling real-time data and building cloud-integrated solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesDashboard Development & Data Visualization

• Design and develop interactive and visually compelling dashboards using Tableau and AWS Quicksight.
• Integrate real-time datasets including SCADA, DSM, smart meter, and weather data into dashboards.
• Build customized user experiences with filters, parameters, toggle switches, and LOD calculations.

Forecasting & Predictive Modeling

• Develop short-term demand and market price forecasting tools using historical datasets.
• Perform feature engineering, back-testing, and accuracy evaluation (MAPE, RMSE, etc.) on ML models.
• Deploy pipelines on AWS EC2, integrate with RDS/MS SQL and monitor model performance over time.

ETL & Data Engineering

• Build robust Python-based ETL pipelines for collecting data from APIs and web portals.
• Automate data processing and refresh mechanisms using tools like Windows Task Scheduler or AWS Lambda.

GIS and Climate Risk Mapping (Preferred)

• Work with CMIP6 or similar datasets for long-term climate risk assessment and exposure mapping.
• Use Python and geospatial libraries to analyze climate impacts on assets.

Technical Skill Set Required

• Languages & Tools: Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn), SQL, AWS (EC2, RDS, Quicksight), Tableau
• ML/AI: Experience with forecasting models (SVM, XGBoost, ANN), U-Net, YOLO, Isolation Forest, etc.
• Databases: MS-SQL Server, MySQL
• Data Engineering: ETL pipelines, task schedulers, real-time data integration
• Visualization: Tableau, AWS QuickSight
• Bonus: Knowledge of renewable energy (solar, wind) data modeling or climate analytics

Preferred Profile

• 3–5 years of total experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning, preferably in a consulting setup.
• Strong background working with power, utility, or energy sector clients.
• Ability to communicate insights clearly and collaborate with cross-functional technical and non-technical teams.
• Exposure to client-facing roles or stakeholder engagement is a plus.

Pay: ₹95,000.00 - ₹98,000.00 per month
