Chief Financial Officer

Sundari Silks, a heritage brand known for excellence in the textile industry, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team. CFO Roles & Responsibilities – Retail Textile Showroom 1. Strategic Financial Leadership Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the showroom’s business objectives. Participate in long-term planning, expansion, and investment decisions. Provide financial insights to support merchandising, inventory control, and sales growth. 2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models. Monitor financial performance (sales, profit margins, expenses) vs. budget. Identify trends, opportunities, and risks impacting revenue or cost efficiency. 3. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management Manage cash flow to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Oversee working capital including inventory levels, supplier payments, and customer collections. Optimize stock purchasing cycles to balance inventory turnover with demand. 4. Cost Control & Profitability Analysis Analyze store-level profitability and product/category margins. Implement cost-saving initiatives across departments (e.g., logistics, procurement). Monitor vendor terms and negotiate for better rates or credit periods. 5. Inventory & Supply Chain Finance Collaborate with the store manager and procurement to maintain optimal inventory levels. Ensure accurate valuation of textile inventory and reduction of obsolete stock. Monitor inventory holding costs and shrinkage (loss/damage). 6. Accounting & Compliance Ensure accurate bookkeeping and timely closing of monthly/quarterly accounts. Oversee statutory compliance: GST, TDS, income tax, and other retail regulations. Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities. 7. MIS & Reporting Generate timely Management Information System (MIS) reports (daily sales, footfall analysis, stock aging, etc.). Provide dashboards for key performance indicators (KPIs) like sales per square foot, average transaction value, etc. 8. Team Management & Systems Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team. Implement or improve ERP/accounting systems for efficiency. Coordinate with IT for POS (Point of Sale) system integration with accounting tools. 9. Banking & Fund Management Maintain banking relationships and manage loans, overdrafts, or credit lines.
