What you’ll be doing:
As Associate Principal Engineer (frontend) you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user interface and experience of our web and desktop products and be responsible for all aspects of the frontend architecture. We are looking for an individual who is not only the frontend proficient but also has a deep understanding of building state-of-the-art design language systems and frontend experiences and therefor has a track record of working with modern frontend frameworks like Stencils, React, and Vue.js.

Provide technical leadership and guidance for the front-end engineering teams, with a focus on developing shared UI components for web and desktop app frontends.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to drive technical decisions and align with business goals.

Ensure a consistent and seamless user experience across different platforms.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of a design language system for shared frontend components.
-
Collaborate closely with our design team to implement and refine design patterns for both web and desktop interfaces.

Demonstrate expertise in Electron and other relevant technologies for building cross-platform desktop applications.

Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and guidelines for shared frontend development incl. accessibility considerations.

Conduct code reviews and mentor team members to enhance overall code quality.
What we’re looking for:
-
Deep hands-on technical expertise in web-technologies.
-
8+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a focus on shared web and desktop app frontends.
-
Proven experience with JavaScript libraries and frameworks like Stencils, React, Vue.js, and other modern frontend platforms.
-
Proven experience with the development and maintenance of design language systems for shared frontend components.
-
Experience in Electron and other relevant technologies for building cross-platform desktop applications.

Experience in defining the KPIs for cross-browser compatibility, consistency, performance and accessibility and analyzing glitches and improvement areas to enhance UX.
-
Experience in building applications in Node JS, Java, or similar languages.

Knowledge and practical experience with REST APIs (Swagger, OAS3, RAML).

Experience with a public cloud platform such as Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud
-
Experience in Linux, Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Development environments, preferably Jenkins or Github Actions

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of frontend engineers.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with experience working in Agile development environment.

Awesome written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a global and distributed environment with agility to mold communication for different audiences and cross-functional teams.
