Job Title: Technical & Sales Expert – Bearings Department: Technical Sales / Application Engineering Location: Flexible/Pan India (Location Not a Constraint) Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent Role Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Technical & Sales Professional with core expertise in bearing technology, application engineering, and industrial sales . The role demands a strong understanding of bearing selection, fitment, failure diagnostics, and lifecycle optimisation across various industrial applications. The ideal candidate should have a proven ability to bridge customer needs with technical solutions, drive business development, and provide post-sales technical support. Core Responsibilities: Technical: Evaluate and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to recommend suitable bearing types (e.g., deep groove ball bearings, cylindrical/tapered roller bearings, spherical bearings, thrust bearings). Calculate bearing life (L10), load ratings, speed limits, and thermal limits based on application parameters using ISO standards (e.g., ISO 281). Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on premature bearing failures and provide corrective/preventive action reports (CAPA). Collaborate with OEM design teams and maintenance engineers for new bearing selection and application-specific customization. Provide technical documentation including application notes, product datasheets, and installation guidelines. Advise on correct mounting/dismounting practices, lubrication regimes (grease/oil selection, re-lubrication intervals), and housing tolerances. Sales & Business Development: Develop, manage, and grow key customer accounts in targeted industries (e.g., automotive, cement, steel, mining, power, railways). Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and techno-commercial discussions with clients. Prepare RFQs, tenders, technical compliance documents, and commercial proposals. Monitor competitor activity and market trends to support strategic positioning of the product line. Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly/annual revenue targets and margin objectives. Maintain up-to-date records in CRM systems and generate periodic sales and technical reports. Required Qualifications & Skills: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or allied discipline) or higher. Minimum 3–7 years of combined experience in technical sales and bearing application engineering. Deep understanding of international standards and bearing cataloguing (SKF, FAG, NSK, NTN, TIMKEN, etc.). Familiarity with bearing failure modes: fatigue spalling, smearing, creep, fretting, false brinelling, etc. Proficient in selection software/tools (e.g., SKF Bearing Select, INA BEARINX, etc.) and CAD-based interpretation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interfacing and internal coordination. Strong negotiation and contract finalisation abilities in B2B industrial sales. Desirable: Experience working with rotating equipment (motors, gearboxes, turbines, pumps). Exposure to condition monitoring (vibration analysis, thermography) and predictive maintenance. Ability to conduct onsite technical audits and training workshops. Willingness to travel extensively across assigned territory. Package & Benefits: Competitive CTC with performance-based incentives.
