About the RoleWe are looking for aBackend Software Engineer (SDE 2)with strong experience inNode.jsand coreJavaScriptto help us design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems that power our global platform for both Consumer and SME segments.In this role, you will collaborate closely with Frontend, Mobile, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure our services are secure, highly available, observable, and performant. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role where your contributions will directly affect customer experience and system reliability at scale.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain robust, secure, and scalable backend services usingNode.js, with adherence to clean coding and modular architecture practices.Work withrelational and NoSQL databases, integrate withmessage brokers(e.g., Kafka or RabbitMQ), and ensure efficient data flow in a distributed microservices architecture.Collaborate with DevOps onCI/CD, cloud deployment (primarilyAWS), and production support — including monitoring, logging, and incident response.Requirements2+ years of hands-on experiencein backend development usingNode.jsin production environments, with strong command overJavaScript core concepts; TypeScript experience is a must.Practical knowledge ofAWS cloud services,CI/CD pipelines, and basic exposure toKubernetesand containerized deployments.Experience withdistributed systems,microservices architecture, and tools likePostgreSQL/MySQL,MongoDB,Kafka/RabbitMQ, with strongproblem-solving skills,DSA, and understanding ofdesign patterns.What we offer at NiumWe Value Performance:Through competitive salaries, performance bonuses, sales commissions, equity for specific roles and recognition programs, we ensure that all our employees are well rewarded and incentivized for their hard work.We Care:The wellness of Nium’ers is our #1 priority.
