Profile : Project Manager

Experience : 9 to 16 Years

Location : Noida

Mode : Hybrid

General Purpose

The individual will be responsible for working with Client and project leads for developing plan, meeting the release targets, accessing project progress and completion of required deliverables for each ongoing project. He/she will share regular status with management, update the plan for critical changes, highlight any risks and mitigation plan after discussion with respective leads.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Project Planning and Status Updates

:
  • Understand and finalize project requirements in collaboration with client and project teams.
  • Define project scope, strategy and work with leads for developing project plan.
  • Organize and lead project status; prepare and distribute progress reports.
  • Manage risks and issues and plan to mitigate the same.
  • Should be able to manage customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance

Process Management and Improvement

: Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement project management best practices.

Team Management :

Support the Team in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance.

  • Leadership :
  • Inspiring and motivating. PMs must be able to guide and motivate their teams to achieve the project goals, even in the face of challenges.
  • Decision-making : They need to make tough decisions promptly and confidently, balancing various interests.
  • Communication :
  • Clear and concise : Effective communication is key for coordinating with stakeholders, team members, and clients. A great PM knows how to convey information clearly, whether in writing or verbally.
  • Active listening : The ability to understand team concerns, client needs, and stakeholder input helps avoid misunderstandings and conflicts.
  • Organizational skills :
  • Planning and time management : PMs must manage complex schedules, deadlines, and resources, keeping the project on track while ensuring all team members stay focused and productive.

  • Industry expertise : While PMs dont always need to be technical experts, they should have a working knowledge of the projects technical or industry-specific aspects. This ensures they can make informed decisions and communicate effectively with technical teams.
  • Methodology knowledge : A good PM understands various project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, etc.) and can apply the best-suited approach to a project.
  • Risk Management :
  • Identifying potential risks : PMs need to be proactive in foreseeing potential challenges and issues that could derail the project.
  • Mitigation strategies : Once risks are identified, the PM must develop contingency plans to address them before they become critical problems.
  • Financial Acumen :
  • Budget management : Understanding project budgets, tracking spending, and ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints is essential.
  • Cost-benefit analysis : PMs should evaluate the financial impact of decisions and ensure resources are used efficiently.
  • Conflict Resolution :
  • Handling disputes : Conflicts among team members or stakeholders are inevitable, but a skilled PM can resolve them diplomatically to keep the project moving forward.
  • Negotiation skills : An ideal PM balances conflicting interests and negotiates effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Meticulous tracking : A successful PM ensures that all aspects of the project are properly documented, tracked, and aligned with the overall objectives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent having 8+ years IT experience with minimum 4+ years of experience in project management.
  • Solid understanding of and experience in using appropriate tools :
  • Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools
  • Strong planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to lead software implementation projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of software development and implementation life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of project management principles and practices and the ability to blend it in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams.
  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to project teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues.
