Job Description

Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Department: IT Infrastructure / Database Management Reports To: IT Manager / Database Manager Job Purpose: The Oracle DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, security, and consistent performance. The role requires expertise in RAC installation, upgrades, Dataguard setup, GoldenGate replication, SQL tuning, and overall database performance tuning. Key Roles & Responsibilities: Perform RAC (Real Application Clusters) installation, configuration, and upgrades. Manage high availability setups using Oracle DataGuard (Physical & Logical Standby). Implement and support Oracle GoldenGate for real-time replication and data synchronization. Perform database upgrades, migrations, patching, and capacity planning. Conduct SQL query tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting for performance bottlenecks. Perform database performance tuning at instance, schema, and SQL level. Monitor and maintain database health using Oracle tools and third-party monitoring solutions. Ensure data security, backup, and disaster recovery solutions are in place and tested. Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for database-related requirements. Document database architecture, configuration, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Required Skills & Experience:3 to 8 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA. Expertise in RAC installation, administration, and troubleshooting. Strong hands-on experience with Oracle DataGuard (setup, failover, switchover). Good working knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate for replication. Proficient in SQL query tuning, AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports. Experience in database performance tuning and optimization techniques. Knowledge of Oracle versions 12c, 19c or higher. Familiar with backup/recovery tools like RMAN. Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields. Oracle certifications like OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) are preferred. Behavioral Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to handle pressure and critical situations. Proactive and self-driven with a commitment to continuous learning.
