About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Node.js Developer to join our dynamic team. This role demands deep technical expertise in building complex Node.js-based backend applications and distributed architectures. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing enterprise-grade solutions, implementing resilient microservices, and leading deployment through CI/CD pipelines. A strong understanding of cloud-native development, particularly in AWS environments, is essential. Responsibilities Build and maintain scalable, secure backend services using Node.js and the Express framework Design and develop cloud-native microservices with integrations to OracleDB, SQL, or NoSQL databases Develop services supporting high-volume transactions using REST and SOAP standards Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for build, deployment, and monitoring Apply best practices for software design, including modularity, reusability, and performance tuning Integrate with AWS cloud components such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, S3, Fargate, and DynamoDB Follow security best practices including OAuth, JWT, multi-factor authentication, cryptography, and key management Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features Lead code reviews, ensure high code quality, and maintain automated unit test coverage Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide reliable solutions promptly Re-factor legacy code with minimal disruption to business functionality Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint goals Work independently with minimal supervision while mentoring junior developers Key Requirements 15+ years of experience in developing enterprise web services with Node.js and Express Minimum 8 years of experience in distributed, microservices-based application development Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, etc.) Experience with MVC frameworks, REST/SOAP APIs, and high-volume transactional systems Hands-on experience in automated testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, etc. Familiarity with security frameworks and tools: certificates, vaults, MFA, and secure APIs Proficient with development and DevOps tools including Swagger, GitLab, IntelliJ, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Prisma Strong background in performance tuning and multi-threaded application development Experience integrating third-party REST/SOAP services; payment gateway integration is a plus Excellent debugging skills and ability to inspect, identify, and resolve issues in source code Ability to design user-focused web services with performance optimization in mind Familiarity with design patterns and best practices for resilient architecture Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in distributed teams Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field Background in retail banking or financial services is preferred Proficient with cloud platforms such as AWS Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as GitLab Equal Opportunity Synechron is an equal opportunity employer.
