Key Responsibilities:

• CAD Modeling & Drafting: Develop accurate 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks for components, assemblies, and complete systems based on customer requirements or internal specifications.
• Mechanical Design: Design mechanical components and assemblies that are functional, cost-effective, and optimized for manufacturing. Ensure that designs meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
• Machining Process Integration: Apply knowledge of CNC and VMC machining processes to ensure designs are manufacturable and suited for machining operations. Liaise with production teams to ensure design feasibility and efficiency.
• Product Development: Assist in the development and improvement of new and existing products, working closely with the production, quality, and procurement teams to translate concepts into final products.
• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical documents that support production and compliance with industry standards.
• Design Validation: Participate in prototype development, product testing, and validation to ensure product reliability and compliance with design expectations.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other engineers, machinists, and quality control personnel to optimize design and production workflows.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance product design, reduce costs, and improve quality by integrating feedback from shop-floor operations and clients.
• Software Proficiency: Use SolidWorks for advanced modeling including surface modeling, sheet metal design, and assembly simulations. Apply AutoCAD for detailed 2D drafting and layout planning.
  

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a design engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing or machining environment.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Understanding of CNC and VMC machining operations
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical components
• Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and material selection
• Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and ability to clearly communicate technical concepts.
• Software Knowledge (Bonus): Experience with PDM tools, CAM software integration, or simulation tools will be an added advantage.
