Job Summary:

Assistant Manager/Manager – Hotel Development will be a key member of the development team who will be responsible for specific geographical areas in India and globally.

He/ She will actively engage with all relevant stakeholders in the company: operations, finance, marketing, and projects as well as external stakeholders including independent consultants, international property consultants, architects and designers.

The hotel development team is responsible for sourcing, evaluation, negotiation and closure of hotel and resort projects both greenfield and conversion opportunities. The role will involve conducting site visits, feasibility studies, negotiation with prospective hotel owners and achieving closure.

The role requires the candidate to work with a collaborative approach with a learner’s mindset and a strong ability to adapt and quick thinking. The ideal candidate should possess skills including market research, financial analysis to support decision making in finalizing hotel development opportunities.

A background in hotel operations, sales, revenue management, consulting and real estate is desirable. In addition, candidates from non-hotel background but looking to enter hospitality real estate can also apply.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Acumen: Develop a strong understanding of hospitality business models, development strategies and investment decisions.
  • Market Intelligence: Review and analyze market trends, conduct competitive analysis and consider political, social, economic factors to help in decision making.
  • Feasibility &Risk Assessment: Develop a strong proficiency in conducting feasibility studies, and risk assessment.
  • Hotel Operations Knowledge: Understanding of revenue management, F&B, front office, and cost optimization.
  • Communication & Relationship Management: Strong presentation, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); and other technical platforms.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, Commerce, Finance or related field.
  • Desirable Qualification: Master’s degree in real estate, Finance or Business Administration.
  • For an Assistant Manager: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hotel operations, sales, revenue management, consulting and real estate is desirable.
  • For a Manager: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, consulting, and hotel operations in the hospitality industry.
  • For candidates, from non-hospitality background, qualifications and experience will be evaluated from a case-to-case basis.
