Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Owns technical decisions and direction of the Digital Mobile AWS cloud strategy for employee-facing applications.
  • Plays an active role in the overall technical architecture and owns the technical responsibility of the success of cloud/non-cloud solutions.
  • Overseeing each phase of software application development lifecycle to ensure a high level of quality for each assigned project.
  • Developing and defining business and technical operating procedures and standards.
  • Developing architectural diagrams and related documentation.
  • Identifying application and business requirements by communicating with technical teams and clients.
  • Keeping abreast of, recommending, and driving new technologies towards implementation and exploitation.
  • Architect specializations will include App / Integration, AWS, DevSecOps, Site Reliability, Platform, Security.


What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related technical field is required
  • 10+ years in a Mobile Architecture or Lead Software Engineering capacity at enterprise scale.
  • Experience with the architecture and design of enterprise software solutions, applications, integrations, security, and platform engineering for mobile and web consumers is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff Mobile Software Development Engineers with best practices and leadership.
  • Experience defining and maintaining accountability of architectural design patterns and serving as a technology domain’s escalation point.
  • Proficiency designing architecture for shared codebases across iOS, Android, and cross-platform frameworks (e.g., .NET MAUI).
  • Design and implement orchestration workflows using AWS Step Functions, Lambda, EventBridge, and other native services.
  • Architect event-driven systems that integrate services like S3, DynamoDB, SNS / SQS, and ECS.
  • Highly proficient with agile methodologies, DevOps principles, object-oriented design patterns, modern tooling, & monitoring / reliability best practices in an enterprise technology environment is required.
  • Expertise in Application Security principles and 12-factor application development principles is required.
  • Expert level proficiency in the following technologies, principles and programming languages include cloud-native development in Javascript / Typescript, Java, Swift, node.js, AWS Serverless Architecture, AWS CDK, S3, Route53, Lambda, KMS, EC2, IAM, ELB, Gitlab, REST APIs, GraphQL.
  • Ability to design and implement highly performant networking systems in on-prem and cloud networking environments using techniques such as load balancing, reverse-proxying, and gateway auto-scaling.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles.
  • Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration skills is a must to have.


What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

  • Experience working in an airline technology environment is preferred.
  • Microservice development on a cloud platform using 12-factor architectural patterns.
  • Experience across all phases of the software development lifecycle including planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Ability to manage, estimate, and provide insight into financial implications of architectural decisions.
  • Experience building flexible APIs and microservice solutions for mobile application consumers.
