Job Title: PLM Technical Architect Department: Product Development Solutions – Digital Engineering and Innovation (DEI) Job Type: Full-Time Experience Required: 7–10 years Role Purpose: The PLM Technical Architect will be part of the PLM Development Solutions team within SKF’s Digital Engineering and Innovation (DEI) division. This team plays a pivotal role in enabling SKF’s vision of “A world of reliable rotation” by supporting the business community in managing technical product information across the entire value chain. The Architect will define and maintain the PLM architecture, integrate it with enterprise systems, and align technology solutions with business strategies. Key Responsibilities: Translate business objectives into functional and technical requirements. Understand and design overarching PLM architecture, including system integrations. Design scalable PLM solutions, especially using Windchill PDMLink, Creo Parametric, ERP, and MES systems. Define architectural models aligned with PLM strategy and fundamentals. Prepare detailed solution documents for development teams and ensure successful implementation. Continuously evaluate new technologies and recommend system enhancements. Configure and develop PLM customizations to support current and future needs. Drive best practices and methodologies for PLM system rollouts. Participate in workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and business case development with internal stakeholders. Assess risks and translate functional needs into robust technical solutions. Key Skills & Technical Expertise: Proven experience implementing Windchill PDMLink and Creo Parametric Deep knowledge of PLM core modules: Part/BOM Management CAD Management Engineering Change Management (ECM) Options and Variant Management Strong PLM Data Model architecture skills (preferably in Windchill) Hands-on programming expertise: Java, JSP, HTML, XML (mandatory) PTC ThingWorx and Python (preferred) Understanding of software development processes and PLM-ERP integration Knowledge of databases, networks, and system architecture Ability to work effectively in Agile environments Familiarity with design, engineering, and sales processes is a plus Candidate Profile: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering 7–10 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 3 years in leading PLM solution development Strong initiative, ownership, and accountability for deliverables Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a matrix and VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment Confident in presenting and defending architectural solutions and roadmaps Recognized ability to introduce and champion new PLM technologies and models Why Join Us?
