Required Technical Skill Set:

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure solutions on the AWS platform. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AWS Redshift architecture, data modelling, performance tuning, and analytics to support business intelligence and advanced analytics needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Architecture Design:

• Design end-to-end data warehouse solutions on AWS Redshift.

• Establish best practices for schema design, workload management, and query optimization.

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud architecture on AWS to meet business and technical requirements.

• Define cloud architecture standards, policies, and best practices.

2. Solution Development:

• Develop and deploy AWS-based solutions, leveraging services such as Redshift, S3, RDS, and more.

• Work with ETL tools and frameworks to automate and optimize data integration processes.

3. Performance Optimization:

• Optimize cloud environments for cost, performance, and security.

• Monitor and tune Redshift clusters to improve query performance and resource utilization.

• Implement compression techniques, distribution styles, and sort keys for optimal data processing.

4. Collaboration:

• Work closely with development, DevOps, Orchestration, and operations teams to integrate AWS services into the overall IT ecosystem.

• Guide and mentor junior engineers in Redshift and AWS technologies.

5. Security and Compliance:

• Design security measures for Redshift, including IAM roles, encryption, and access control.

• Ensure compliance with data governance and industry standards.

6. Monitoring and Support:

• Set up and manage monitoring tools for cloud resources (e.g., AWS CloudWatch).

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the AWS environment.

• Plan and execute maintenance tasks such as cluster resizing and version upgrades.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong expertise in Amazon Redshift architecture, including performance tuning and advanced configurations.

• Experience: 12+ years of experience in IT, with at least 3+ years in cloud architecture using AWS Redshift and other services.

• Proficiency with AWS ecosystem: S3, Glue, Lambda, CloudWatch, and Athena.

• Hands-on experience in data modelling (star schema, snowflake schema) and query optimization.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).

• Experience with programming languages like Python or SQL for data manipulation and automation.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment.
