Tax Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Direct Tax and GST Compliance & Return Filing
• Manage monthly and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C) and 2A/2B reconciliation
• Review accounting records to ensure accurate classification of GST liabilities and ITC
• Reconcile tax data between books, SAP, and GSTN portal
• Filling TDS returns, corporate tax returns, and respond to tax authority queries and audits
• Input Tax Credit (ITC) Management
• Optimize and monitor eligible ITC as per CGST Rules (Section 16 & Rule 36(4)).
• Conduct regular vendor follow-ups and 2A/2B reconciliation
• Manage blocked credits, ineligible ITC, and RCM compliance
• GST Audit & Annual Filings
• Lead preparation and filing of GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C
• Coordinate statutory and internal GST audits, and support audit-related disclosures
• Litigation, Notices & Assessments
• Draft responses to SCNs, audit observations, and tax notices
• Prepare documentation for GST, Direct Tax, and Transfer Pricing assessments and appeals
• Coordinate with legal counsel and external advisors in litigation matters
• Advisory & Strategic Support
• Advise business units on transaction structuring, e-invoicing, RCM, and GST implications
• Analyse tax circulars, rulings, and legal updates to assess business impact
• Review contracts and POs for GST compliance and tax efficiency
• ERP Integration & Process Automation
• Work with IT and finance teams to implement GST functionalities in SAP
• Develop and enforce SOPs for GST compliance, e-invoicing, and e-way bills
• GST Refund Management (Exports)
• Handle end-to-end GST refunds for exports (IGST/LUT), SEZ supplies, deemed exports, and inverted duty
• Prepare and file refund applications with complete documentation (shipping bills, BRC/FIRC, LUTs, etc.)
• Reconcile export data across GST returns, customs (ICEGATE), banking, and ERP
• Manage refund processes including deficiency memos, rejections, and re-filings
  

Technical Knowledge

• Mathematical and statistical skills
• Analytical approach
• Knowledge of Windows programs: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP), GSTN Portal, e-invoice systems, and Excel (pivot, XLOOKUP)
• Indian tax law and regulation knowledge
  

Job Requirements

• Education: CA (Inter) / MBA Finance / M.Com or equivalent (specialization in taxation preferred)
• Experience: Minimum 4 years in Direct Tax and and indirect tax domain (preferably in large corporates or consulting firms)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for ordinary communication with the Global team
• Fluent English
