Job Description

Job Title: Material Handling Manager Location: Gurugram Experience: 8–10 Years Industry: Logistics / Supply Chain / Warehousing Department: Operations / Store Management Reporting to: Head – Supply Chain / Operations Manager Job Purpose: To manage end-to-end material handling operations, including warehouse/store management, coordination with 3PL partners, inventory control, and continuous process improvement through direct customer interaction. The role ensures operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:1. Material Handling & Store Management Oversee receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of materials with adherence to quality and safety standards. Implement efficient warehouse layout and racking systems to optimize space utilization. Ensure proper stock management practices (FIFO/FEFO), GRN process, and inventory accuracy. 2. 3PL Management Manage and coordinate activities of third-party logistics service providers. Define and monitor SLAs, track KPIs, and ensure service compliance. Conduct performance reviews and audits of 3PL operations. 3. Inventory & Systems Management Maintain accurate inventory records using WMS/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.). Conduct cycle counts and full stock audits regularly. Analyze stock movements, resolve variances, and report on key inventory metrics. 4. Customer Interaction & Continuous Improvement Engage directly with customers to understand service requirements and identify areas for improvement. Act on customer feedback to streamline operations, enhance service delivery, and boost satisfaction. Lead process improvement initiatives using lean/Kaizen principles. 5. Cost & Efficiency Management Monitor and control material handling and storage costs. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Track and report operational KPIs to senior management. 6. Team Leadership & Compliance Lead, train, and supervise warehouse and handling staff. Ensure team adherence to HSE standards and company policies. Promote a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous learning. Qualifications: B.Tech / BBA / MBA in Logistics, Operations, Supply Chain, or related discipline. Certification in Warehouse or Logistics Management is an advantage. Experience: 8–10 years of experience in material handling and store operations. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in managing 3PL service providers. Experience in interacting with customers to drive operational improvements. Skills & Competencies: In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations and best practices. Hands-on experience with ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.). Strong leadership, planning, and team management skills. Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities. Analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making.
