Senior Deployment Automation Engineer

Senior Deployment Automation Engineerwith deep experience in backend development, deployment frameworks, and automation practices to lead and contribute to enterprise-grade deployments using Catapult and associated tooling. The ideal candidate will act as a subject matter expert for automation strategies, collaborate across teams to define deployment best practices, and mentor junior engineers. You will partner with Product Managers, Architects, and cross-functional teams to architect scalable, secure, and automated deployment workflows.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGDesign, implement, and enhance automation frameworks for UI, communication, and output-driven deployment processes.Lead the development of internal tools and reusable components to accelerate deployment automation.Serve as a technical mentor and leader, guiding junior engineers and contributing to technical decision-making.Participate in and improve CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile development practices across the organization.Collaborate closely with the Upgrade Team to ensure smooth transitions and backwards-compatible deployments.Develop software primarily in Java, but also collaborate across other languages and tools as needed.Conduct code reviews, performance evaluations, and architectural reviews for deployment solutions.Drive improvements in observability, logging, error reporting, and automation reliability.Manage and contribute to documentation, internal knowledge bases, and automation standards.Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex deployment or automation issues.Stay current with evolving technology trends, tools, and practices in cloud and automationWHAT YOU BRINGBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in software development or deployment automation roles.Strong coding proficiency in Java or similar high-level languages (e.g., C++, Python, Golang)Experience leading small to mid-sized engineering teams or project-based leadership.Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining deployment automation tools and scripts.Working knowledge of tools such as Catapult, Eclipse, Jenkins, Git, or similar CI/CD platforms.Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) frameworks.Solid problem-solving and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to lead complex debugging efforts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) is a plus
