Job Description

Industry: Information Technology | Database & Infrastructure Services

We are a fast-scaling managed services provider helping enterprises in finance, retail, and digital-native sectors keep mission-critical data available, secure, and high-performing. Our on-site engineering team in India safeguards petabytes of transactional data and drives continuous optimisation across hybrid environments built on open-source technologies.

Role & Responsibilities

Administer and optimise PostgreSQL clusters across development, staging, and production workloads.
Design, implement, and automate backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery strategies with point-in-time restore.
Tune queries, indexes, and configuration parameters to achieve sub-second response times and minimise resource consumption.
Configure and monitor logical and streaming replication, high availability, and failover architectures.
Harden databases with role-based security, encryption, and regular patching aligned to compliance standards.
Collaborate with DevOps to integrate CI/CD, observability, and capacity planning into release pipelines.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

5+ years PostgreSQL administration in production.
Expertise in query tuning, indexing, and vacuum strategies.
Proficiency with Linux shell scripting and automation tools.
Hands-on experience with replication, HA, and disaster recovery.

Preferred

Exposure to cloud-hosted PostgreSQL (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL).
Knowledge of Ansible, Python, or Kubernetes for infrastructure automation.
