Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled
Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
to manage, maintain, optimize, and secure our Oracle database environments. This role demands deep expertise in Oracle 19c+ administration, performance tuning, high availability, and cloud migration. Candidates with experience in
migrating Oracle databases to Azure
and familiarity with
Oracle 23ai
will be strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, patch, and maintain Oracle databases in on-premise and cloud (Azure) environments.
- Perform query tuning and performance optimization for efficient and scalable database operations.
- Manage production databases with a focus on availability, security, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Implement and monitor backup/recovery procedures using RMAN and Oracle Data Guard.
- Enforce database security policies, access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
- Lead or assist in Oracle-to-Azure Cloud migration projects with minimal downtime and maximum data integrity.
- Provide production support and troubleshooting across Oracle 19c and higher.
- Optionally, apply Oracle 23ai knowledge for planning future upgrades and leveraging advanced features.
- Collaborate with developers and architects to support application development with optimal database design.
- Conduct regular health checks, review performance logs, and implement enhancements for reliability.
- Document all database-related procedures, configurations, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
- 7–8 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle database installation, upgrade, and patching.
- Expertise in Oracle 19c administration; exposure to Oracle 23ai is a significant advantage.
- Deep understanding of SQL and PL/SQL, with strong skills in query performance tuning.
- Experience managing high-availability environments using Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
- Proven track record in RMAN-based backup and recovery strategies.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle security implementation, including user/role management, auditing, and encryption.
- Experience in Oracle-to-Azure Cloud migrations with knowledge of Azure DB services and networking.
- Familiarity with logging, error tracking, and tuning techniques across on-prem and cloud-hosted Oracle databases.
Preferred Skills
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification.
- Experience with Shell scripting, Python, or other automation tools.
- Familiarity with Azure database offerings like Azure SQL DB, PostgreSQL, and managed Oracle instances.
